40 Years De Grote Broek!

40 years ago, on November 4th, an empty printshop was squatted and turned into the beating heart of Nijmegen’s leftist and alternative scene. Since then, De Grote Broek has seen many changes, but its collectives always stayed true to ideas of squatting as a tool to create spaces free of oppression, exclusion and the profit motive. The big birthday this year will be celebrated with a week full of political workshops, DIY, concerts, and of course, a good party. The twist: not only is it a celebration of four decades, but it is a call to the community to help us BUY OUR BUILDING! All events during this week will help us raise the funds to stay in this building for another 40 years. Come join us in celebrating the history and future of this unique place.
