If the bigger theme of this Mute would be passion, it would have been hard to find anyone more passionate about electronic music and DJing as Feryne. She is the living, breathing definition of a ‘DJ’s DJ’: someone who not only possesses exceptional technical skills in mixing, but also has a vast and deep knowledge of electronic music, spanning various generations, genres and subgenres AND has the talent for unearthing hidden gems. The amount of times I discovered tracks that are now part of my repertoire by listening to one of her mixes is countless.
Slowly, steadily and consistently she has been working her way up to the stages of bigger festivals, always promoting and supporting musicians, earning the highest respect from her fellow DJs. Needless to say we’re thrilled to have her back tonight.

When I’m looking for artists to invite to play Mute, I often can’t describe exactly what I’m searching for until I hear it. The process is full of near misses—mixes that feel almost right but need a little more of this or a little less of that. But sometimes it clicks, that’s where the magic is, and Aur0ra made it click.
Turns out I was looking for someone who plays records that are high-energy, funky and fun. Someone who blends genres in a way that feels fresh and exciting: Techno, House, UK Garage, Breaks, with a sprinkle of old-school Dubstep. What’s not to love?
Fun fact: Aur0ra won a Kronkel DJ contest where Feryne was a judge. I swear did not know that when uniting them on the same evening, but it does make the story of this Mute even sweeter and Mr Lynch all the more of a Prophet
